Breakfast Club

08:00–08:50

The breakfast club at Òganan Dhùn Eideann is focused on getting the day started in the right way. We aim to support you and your family in making the transition from home to childcare to school as smooth and seamless as possible. We want to make starting your day in this way as pleasant an experience as possible. Your child will be offered breakfast, and there is always an activity available to get those young brain cells working. All children are accompanied to their relevant meeting point at the commencement of the school day.

C1/2 Short sessions

14:45–15:20

The school day for children in Class 1 and 2 finishes earlier than the rest of the school, and the Òganan staff meet the children from their classrooms. Parents can book just this session or the children can then join their friends in the after-school club.

After-school Club

15:20–17:50

The after-school club aims to provide some down time for your child after school. We create an atmosphere in which they can relax, have fun and interact with other children. This may take the form of playing a game of football or rounders, participating in first aid club or singing a song as Mod time draws closer. There are many ways to foster a great time with friends from school. If you would like us to give your child support with their reading and or homework, we will factor this in too.

Your child will be offered a healthy snack and they will have free access to drinks and fruit which are available throughout the session.

The after-school club also operates from Pilrig Park School which is just a 4 minute walk across the park. The Òganan room leads on to expansive grounds that offer an outdoor environment rich in natural beauty.

Holiday Clubs

As well as being the leading provider of Gaelic early years and after-school club provision at Òganan we run holiday clubs throughout the year and offer a range of different opportunities and activities at each one.

Our holiday clubs are available to all children aged 3–12 years.

The holiday clubs are carefully balanced to keep the children thoroughly entertained throughout the day. Not only do they try lots of new sports and active games, they learn new skills and lave a lot of fun! With plenty of collaborative games, it’s a great way to develop their teamwork and communication skills.

The more we can assist the children in developing their language skills the more it will benefit them throughout life’s journey.

Our holiday clubs give parents the comfort that their children are having fun in a nurturing and caring environment and the satisfaction that they are uniquely developing their language skills. Encountering and employing Gaelic in a range of settings, is important educationally and in bolstering the self-esteem of our young Gaelic speakers.

Our programmes

Our venues are chosen for their facilities and the Òganan staff plan sessions to make the most of the time and space available. Our holiday club programmes are created in collaboration with the children and based on their likes and interests.

Booking is easy

All holiday clubs are booked on a first-come-first-serve basis and Òganan will send out a communication when booking opens for each holiday club.

The communication will be sent to all families currently registered in the setting. Once booking is available, requests should be made to oifis@oganan.com

We’re passionate about getting children active, having fun and learning together.

What to bring

You will need:

• A packed lunch, we will provide snacks!

• A refillable water bottle is ideal; however, we will have water available to the children throughout the day

• Clothing suitable for both indoor and outdoor activities

• A raincoat for break-time and free play. We will encourage children to utilise the space outdoors even if it’s grey and overcast

• Hand sanitiser if you have it. We will ask every child to wash their hands as they enter and leave the building each day (as well as key points throughout the day)

• Suncream (if weather appropriate!)

You won’t need:

• Mobile phone – must not be brought to or used at Òganan. Where necessary, they should be kept in bags until the end of the day

• Sports equipment, games or toys – we’ve got plenty!

• Valuables such as expensive watches and non-essential jewellery

The service is designed to provide your child with quality care at all times whilst providing parents the security of knowing that their children are in a safe, nurturing environment, where they are all well cared for and having fun enjoying a range of stimulating and creative activities.

The after-school club aims to provide some down time for your child after school. We create an atmosphere in which they can relax, have fun and interact with other children. This may take the form of playing a game of football or rounders, tuition from a Fèis tutor or singing a song as Mòd time draws closer. There are many ways to foster a great time with friends from school. If you would like us to give your child support with their reading and or homework, we will factor this in too.

Òganan Bhaile a’ Ghobhainn is a purpose-built nursery. The nursery has been designed to be a warm and welcoming environment that will give children everything they need to grow, develop, and prepare for school, providing the very best start in life.

The nursery offers a spacious and stimulating environment indoors and outdoors. The outdoor environment enables the children to not only develop their skills but also allows them to learn and explore in the natural environment. We take every opportunity to access the outdoors with the children and many of the rooms having continuous access to the outdoors.

There are a range of options available to you at Òganan depending on your own preferences and needs.

First and foremost, we offer highly trained and caring professionals working throughout the day to help the children learn, providing gentle guidance, personal attention and developmental activities. Put simply we want your child to do the best they can and we will help them on life’s journey. The learning the children undertake is child lead and we adapt our plans to reflect their interests. We want the children in our care to grow in confidence and understanding as well as in their abilities and talents.

Children will receive snacks, milk, or water and a hot lunch at the setting. All meals are nutritionally balanced and we will cater to dietary requirements where applicable.

Funded Sessions

As a partner provider nursery, we work with the Glasgow City Council to deliver 1,140 hours of funded early learning and childcare for eligible 3–5-year-olds. This means that children can attend the setting for funded sessions over the academic year (38 weeks). Uptake of sessions is based on parental choice and availability. Children can attend for funded sessions from the first Monday after their third birthday.

Payable Sessions

Full and part time sessions are available and parents can choose the number and type of sessions they require, e.g. morning or afternoon only sessions, full day sessions across part- or the whole week. Children can attend payable sessions from their third birthday.
