Easter Holiday Club at Òganan Dhùn Èideann
We recently welcomed some of you to our Easter Holiday Club, where we held a range of themed days and trips.
The themes were created in conjunction with the children, to reflect their current interests.
The day themes included our very own Òganan Talent Show, International Book Day, Dynamic Earth, and a visit from the farm, which was an all-round favourite!
Week 1:
International Book Day
The week began with International Book Day, where the children had the opportunity to make their books, comics, and collages, and discuss their favourite books.
A visit from the Farm at Òganan!
The following day we had a visit from the farm. This went down very well with the children (and staff!).
We were greeted by alpacas, Shetland ponies, rabbits, and goats. The animals were allowed to have free rein and explore their surroundings with help from the children
“My favourite day at Òganan EVER was when the animals were in the playground.”
– Felix (C1)
Gardening Day
Thankfully, the weather was in our favour for Gardening Day which came next!
We decorated plant pots and planted beautiful flowers.
Trip to the Park
We ended the week with a trip to Pilrig Park. Even though it was wet, it was the perfect muddy puddle weather!
Week 2:
Junior MasterChef
Week Two kicked off with our Junior MasterChef, which provided the children the opportunity to show off their cake decorating and pizza-making skills.
“I got to make my pizza in the shape of a mermaid because I love mermaids.”
– Cora (C1)
Òganan's Got Talent!
Our Òganan Talent Show showcased the incredible skills the children have: piano playing, gymnastics, and dance routines, to name a few of the skills shared.
We even had a magician in our midst – we are still not sure how he did it!
“WHAT?! That’s magic! How did he do that?”
– Oliver (C3)
Dynamic Earth
Our second week trip took us to Dynamic Earth, with a mix of children who had been before, and first-timers.
“I loved the ice room at Dynamic Earth.”
– Molly (C5)
Òganan Sleepover
After an action-packed week, the children were grateful for the Òganan sleepover followed by our second park day, which provided some much-needed time to wind down.
