Mini Medics
At Òganan Dhun Èideann, our early years children were recently visited by Lindsay, a Mini First Aid Trainer.
The children were delighted to learn some First Aid, and develop their strong interest in helping and caring for themselves and others.

The children especially loved Lindsay’s assistant… a big cuddly bear!
The children learnt about First Aid in an interactive way that encouraged them to get involved, learn through play, and ask questions.

The layout of the session appealed to all of the children and allowed all types of learners to benefit from the experience.
Together we learnt…

How to dial 999…

…how to recite our home addresses in the case of an emergency…

…how to clean and apply plasters to wounds…

…and what to do/look out for if someone bumps their head.
Stories, songs and the care of Mr. Bear were also incorporated to consolidate their learning.

At the end of the session, the children were awarded a Mini First Aid Certificate, a sticker, and a booklet with all the information they had learned from the day.
As an Early Years Staff Team, we are now confident we are in safe hands with so many Mini First Aiders on hand!
