Exploring the City

At the nursery, we’ve been having a wonderful time exploring the world with the children through regular trips, which incorporate their interests and make their learning experiences more meaningful.

Last month, our focus was on the Autumn season and transport…

The children took great delight in taking the local bus and subway to go to local parks where they had the opportunity to use and learn their Gaelic vocabulary related to Autumn.

They enjoyed a fun Autumn scavenger hunt, ticking off items from their lists, which kept them engaged and excited about nature and of course they had fun in the different play parks on offer!

We also used these outings to teach important lessons on road safety, helping the children understand what to watch out for whilst out and about.

A trip to the transport museum was also a must and the children showed great interest in exploring all the different types of transport of old and new!

Most recently we took the bus to the local library where the children had great fun exploring all the different books that were on offer and colouring in their favourite characters.

We were happy to see that the library had a section of Gaelic children’s books to peruse and the children enjoyed coming together at the end to listen to a story.

Trips are a central part of our learning, and we look forward to sharing our upcoming adventures with you!
