Glendale: Care Inspection

We recently had our Care Inspectorate visit. It’s always an intense experience, but I am delighted to say it went extremely well! We were given three ‘very good’ ratings and one ‘good’, which we’re all really proud of (this equates to three 5/6 and one 4/6 using the inspectorates rating system).

The team really does work hard to support the children, and it was lovely to see that recognised.

The inspectors particularly highlighted how staff plan activities based on the children’s interests and feedback, both through everyday conversations and more structured consultations (such as our floorbook).

We got really positive comments about the nurturing environment we’ve created.

One inspector noted that children were “nurtured and supported throughout their daily experiences”, which reflects the strong relationships and trust we’ve built with them. Another highlight was our strong use of Gaelic.

The inspector noted that children were completely exposed to Gaelic during their play. This is fundamental to what we do, so recognition of how our staff are supporting language development in a fun and meaningful way was welcome.

Overall, it was a really positive experience, and we’re delighted with the outcome.

There are always areas to reflect on and improve, but this feedback has given us a great boost and reassurance that we’re on the right track.
